One of the most exciting recent developments...
...in the PC strategy game publishing space occurred quietly in Montreal, Canada on April 25. After several months of strategic discussion and negotiation, Strategy First Inc. became part of a NASDAQ public company – Silverstar Holdings (NASDAQ: SSTR). This has set the stage for a dramatic and exciting renewal at Strategy First, and further fuels the ambitious expansion plans of Silverstar.
Company employees at Strategy First’s headquarters in Montreal applauded the announcement, recognizing immediately the financial stability and marketplace momentum that the new ownership would provide. The affiliation with a public company offers Strategy First a wide array of options with which to pursue top level titles for international distribution.
Contract negotiations on a number of exciting new titles, such as the Space Empires series, Battle of Europe, and several others were quickly and successfully concluded based on the exciting synergy the new relationship afforded the development community.
A re-energized Strategy First is an exciting place to be these days.
Plans for the Company’s new on-line store are well advanced, and it should open on schedule in the second half of May. Special promotions, discount coupons, and store-opening specials are in the final stages of preparation right now. Our loyal customers and fans will not be disappointed and should watch their emails for our upcoming promotions and special “subscriber only” discounts.
Many new and substantial strategy game titles are in the works, including new versions of Strategy First’s own Jagged Alliance and Disciples franchises. The quiet event on April 25 will not be quiet much longer. Industry insiders already know that the strategy game marketplace has a new revitalized player who is going to do great things for developers and customers in the months and years ahead.

Looking around the office here at Strategy First, I searched high and low (around the coffee machine, kitchen, and yes even the bathrooms) for my next victim to interview. I was looking for the following characteristics: They had to be funny, intelligent, good-looking, but most importantly, be able to provide our dedicated fans with the low-down on our upcoming title, Gun Metal, which is set to hit stores on May 24, 2005.
