Ankh: Heart of Osiris is a classical, humorous point & click adventure game set on an ancient egyptian world, pretty much comparable to Monkey Island. Assil and Thara have moved together and are awakened one night by a comet that sets their house on fire. They are told that the Battle of the Gods is about to take place again, and one of these Gods is actually hidden inside the Ankh-chalice that Assil carries on his chest and can now speak to him. As Assil you will travel to Luxor, ancient Egypt’s Las Vegas, and will try to enter the Battle so that the God in the Ankh you are carrying around with you can win the Battle. Thus you should prevent the sinister God Seth from winning the Battle and ruling all over the world.
The Ankh series is played only with the mouse. You meet characters, pick up objects and combine them in your inventory or with other characters. You also have several dialogue options to chose from and thus discuss with other characters – the right dialogue option might also be an answer to a riddle. Despite the title of the game, you don’t actually fight. There is no action in the game at all.
